What is your review of the movie Silent Hill.

I found the movie dark and scarry. At certain moments in the movie a fallout siren goes off followed by a blackout, in which reality alters into a nightmare. These scenes stuck in my head long after I watched the film, very artistic and captivating in a disturbing way.
The movie also touches on what is real and what is in your head. The end of the movie had me wondering, "Is that it?". I have to admit I felt a little let down at the conclusion of the story. Everything up to it had me captivated though. I found myself holding my breathe for the main character, hoping that she some how made it out with her daughter.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this movie. Having not played the games or even been around anyone that played them, I had no background on any of the setting, so had to go from the movie itself, which I was, as I said, surprised to find actually held up and presented itself solidly, if confusing beyond understanding in a number of places.
I was impressed with the eeriness both in scenes with all the weird monsters and happenings, but also just in the acting and and atmosphere, direction, lighting, etc. I actually think it was one of the best horror movies I've seen, true horror, not slasher, not vampire, just "horror".

After the continuous sleep walking episodes of Sharon, the young daughter of Rose Da Silva, the decision is made to take Sharon to the place only mentioned in her restless dreams- Silent Hill. However, the road to Silent Hill is anything but easy to access, and Rose creates a high speed chase between herself and a police officer only to end in a crash for them both. When she wakes up, Sharon has disappeared and Rose is at the entrance to the deserted, dream-like town of Silent Hill. As Rose begins the search for her daughter, she does not realize the terror and mystery surrounding her. Rose is led on a blind search for her beloved daughter, finding herself getting more and more entwined into disturbing past of Silent Hill.
