Rhothgar smiles and says "this is indeed valuable. Thank you friend for this generosity. I would have settled for a handful of silver pieces and chance to stain my sword red, but this surprises me. Where are you headed now? It would be best if traveled together lest the absence of our departed friends here draw another ambush."
Having looted the corpses for anything useful or valuable, Rhothgar awaits the mage's response.
Glem dismounts and draws his scythe.
Initiative: 17
Glem casts Magic Weapon(unmodified roll of 16 if distracted) and runs in beside Capn Geirill.
Attacks (+4 +1): 21, 14, 18, 23, 15 (oh man such good rolls only happen with a real die)
Damage (2D4 +4 +1): 9, 7, 9, 8, 12.
I believe that my weapon is still enchanted for 5 more turns...
Geoffre tells Krusten that if she wants some action she could travel south with the caravan.
----------
"I am an old man, but you seem to be sincere about wanting me to travel with you. Alright, I will do so for a time. Some adventuring might do me good. Lead on!"
----------
A hail of arrows flies of Glem's head towards the unsuspecting orks. There is a chorus of yells and cries from the ork camp. They immiediately begin to counter charge you. There are over a dozen orcs running your way and several more are cut down by arrow fire.
The first orc that gets in range of Glem's scythe is slain instantly when the scythe blade cuts deep into its chest. As soon as he rips his scythe out an orc strikes at him. Glem doesn't move fast enough and the orcs weapon cuts into his chest. (You take 6 damage.)
Suddenly the orc roars as a blade pierces through his back and out his chest. As the orc falls over, you see Geirill standing behind it.
He turns to combat an orc and you follow suit, easily parrying an orcs slash and cutting into his arm and then his chest. The orc falls dead. There is still more fighting going on and Glem finds himself up against too orcs. The first charges at him, but Glem sidesteps and rips open its stomach. The second one approaches more cautiously and strikes, Glem blocks the blow. The orc then ducks underneath Glem's Scythe as he slashes at it.
(I need some more combat rolls and then what you will do if you kill the orc.)
Krusten rechecks her items and gets her gear together. Now that she is healed up and feeling anew she decides to travel south with the caravan looking out for anything unsuspected.
Out of Character:: In case you need them:
D20: 12, 12, 11, 9
Rhothgar replies, "glad to have you aboard. For now, I think it would be best if we conceal these bodies and hide whatever traces we can of our recent battle. Then I believe we should head back to Cartetha. It's not often that an old man is ambushed by thieves, that is unless they know him to be a mage. Perhaps these men were HIRED to ambush you. At any rate, we might want to ask around."
If Glem had not healed the 3 damage from the alleyway, he is on 1 hp.
Glem takes one last swing at the orc
attack(+5) 20
damage(+5) 11
"I'm hurt!" Glem shouts to Geirill. He backs away from the fight and runs over to the archers. (If this invokes attacks of opportunity, he shifts away and enters a defensive stance making his AC 14+4)
"Get me one of those!" he shouts pointing at a bow.
Krusten moves out with the caravan when it leaves. The caravan suprisingly makes it to the small town of Leth, which is southeast of Cartetha, uneventfully. Leth is roughly the same size as Cartetha with wooden walls and gates.
There is a tavern and a small market here as well.
----------
Rhothgar and the wizard are able to hide any trace of a fight except their footprints.
----------
(Glem didn't heal the wounds.)
As Glem rushes back to the archers, they notice he is hurt. A soldier behind the archers walks up and puts his hands on Glem. He feels a surge of energy flow into his body and his wounds begin to heal. (You are healed back to full health.)
One of the other men tosses Glem a bow and and a quiver of 2 dozen arrows.
