Knuckle
What is your review for the bare handed fighting documentary called, "Knuckle"?
Knuckle (Hover)
An epic 12-year journey into the brutal and secretive world of Irish Traveler bare-knuckle fighting. This film follows a history of violent feuding between rival clans.
I love the Irish folklore, music and general traditions but I have to hope that this documentary film "Knuckle" is not a representation of the majority of people there. It is about feuding families that use fist fights and gambling as a means of temporarily settling disputes. I was most disappointed with the involvement of the children in the whole affair. There are parts of the documentary which showed children wanting to be like their dad or uncle to also fist fight against their own relatives. The reasons for these acts were sorry to say, "Stupid". You would think that any adult with half a brain would avoid such situations. I can't believe hard back adults with grand children were getting on like immature school yard children. As for the documentary itself it was alright. I felt it missed a little bit of a historical perspective into how bare hand fighting started in Ireland / England and why it was chosen as the method above other means of settling their disputes.
