So you are saying the Lord would ask you to go against the law of the land, risk imprisonment or an abortion for the sake of having more children? |

And if you, why not all the faithful mothers who also live in China and want to have more children and they felt the Lord want them to? |
That is the point. When the Lord asks something formidable it is usually with a means to bringing salvation to many. There are ground rules provided and then we collectively are expected to obey those rules. For instance there is a definitive rule on both sides (Church and law) that says you must obey the laws of the land. However there is no definitive rule in the Church about the number of children you must have, but there is by law in this scenario.
I have heard MANY times Members make a case for doing something that was far reaching unusual that in the end did not give a result of happiness. Maybe I am a blind man, but I doubt the Lord will instruct something of an individual that collectively he has already decreed.
Anyway, since you are avoiding the question here is what I thought you would answer. "I would move away from China so I can have more children." That is what in your example the Lord would often do, move the people away from the environment that is not compatible with his laws, He very very few times would ask his people to fight against it (most times that was the Old Testament).
Now, if you had answered that I would say more, but I digress.

Then take it to the Threads they belong.
I felt you were avoiding the question because you are instead saying that you want the Lord to answer it. My feeling is the Lord would not ask you as an individual to do something against the law that would lead to the child being aborted and your own imprisonment.
I feel instead the Lord would make the means possible that you as an individual might be placed in a position that what you do both satisfies the law of the land and Him. Hence today we have things like... Divorce, no more Plural marriage and many others.... That as you said, will go off topic.
A point to debate. For those who believe that God is in charge of a woman's womb: I always hear (myself included) people saying they want "X" number of children, but if God is truly in charge...is it okay to think this way? Shouldn't we saying we will welcome as many he may want to send our way instead of us thinking we are the ones in charge?
Interesting point. God is in charge of every breath we take, as I understand it, and we don't count how many of those we get to have. However, I don't see anything wrong with wanting or hoping for a long, healthy life. Why not want and hope for X number of children? We may not get to make the final decision, but we can hope and pray for that gift. I believe God is merciful, and God is often indulgent with us as his own children and blesses us with many of our desires.
The reason I asked this is because I know a good sister who always told me she wanted 4 or 5 kids, planned every little detail including spacing of the kids. Unfortunately, she was not blessed with any kids of her own. By the other hand, I know a sister who only wanted 2 but her husband and her felt the family was not complete. They kept having children until the last one (#7) was born. Then, they felt the family was complete and the Lord happy.
No matter how much people "plan" these things, in the end it seems like the Lord has the last say.
This will probable be our last child, and we are seriously considering taking measures to stop future pregnancies.
For good or bad, we are not necessarily relying on inspiration on this one, more relying on what we can handle.
It seems there are some decisions that should be primarily made by the couple, and this may be one of them.
I may be wrong.
