Krusten notices the sound of soft hoof beats and muffled utterances of a hushed conversation off ahead in the distance.
Krusten notices a copse of trees up ahead with enough shade from the moonlight to which she can sneak to in order to get a better understanding of the conversation.

Krusten moves in closer. In an open patch of road she notice two riders very much unlike the ones which attacked the caravan. There are two men clad in dark plate armor riding heavy war horses.
From the crest of a fanged serpent on one of the rider's shields, she recognizes them to be Theran legionaires.
From her hiding place, Krusten hears the following:
"I don't care what General Ormand says. I say these raiders are not to be trusted. They're too unpredictable. "
- "All they need to do is block the trade caravans from replenishing the other cities. With the shipments from the Keep halted, we can begin our expansion into the western heartlands and from there the whole of Barsaive."
"It's fortunate for us that Throal has sealed its doors. With the largest of its citadels repelling invasion, we're free now to move about these lands."
- "Do you know from where the invasion comes?"
"Not a clue. But then does it matter?"
Eventually the hoof beats begin to die away as the riders amble farther down the road. Krusten can no longer make out any trace of the rider's conversation.
When all appears to be clear she quietly sneaks back to the encampment fearful there may be more Theran patrols.
Krusten finds herself back at the encampment. The whole of the camp is still asleep.
Admiring the defensive architecture, Deke heads over to the university complex. There he either looks to find psions to learn more about his newfound skills or looks for odd jobs to do. He also plans ahead, offering to trade his service for a nights rest.
Most of the first day is spent sightseeing, he plans to go see Lord Benton the next day.
