I agree with Tena on this, there a lot of things available on the net, but it does not mean or make it good. I am sure if you look well you can find deep dark secrets about almost anything on the net, including that which is sacred. I once learned long ago this simple phrase: If you treasure up what is revealed to you in secret then more shall be given to you in secret because the Lord can trust you.

I think we will still be guilty of breaking the covenant regardless of whether the person understands it or not. We have revealed the words, even if we haven't revealed the meaning. |
Going back to the facsimile I posted earlier (Abraham) and the sacred things it shares, I have come up with the following observations, comments and questions that may help us understand the endowment even more.
Fig. 1 - Kolob is the closest creation to the residence of God. Maybe an Adam & Eve started here and the cause has been repeated time and time again. By the time of Kolob we understand that 1000 years of earth time is like a day for the Lord, with this in mind we understand that the earth took six days to complete and on the seventh God rested. Now this earth will then be 7000 years old before Adam came upon it, with that in mind... we are saying that from the time of Adam til now is 6000 years, that is 13,000 years.
Fig. 2 - Notice that the Egyptians have actual words for the things pointed out here. Is it possible then that they had a great knowledge of these things? How much did they know. Who actually drew the facsimile must have been an aware participant.
Fig. 8 - To say this is had in the temple makes you wonder exactly which part of the endowment or other ordinance it is refereing to.
Fig. 9, 10, 11 - Has anyone taken up this challenge and tried? Has the Church or anyone taken this to a hieroglyph expert for review? I have some papers on this, but I am unable to look for them now.
Earlier in the thread there was discussion of a letter from the First Presidency back in 1978 discouraging members from participating in Prayer Circles outside the temple. I just happened upon a copy of that letter and thought I would post it here.

Well, I am troubled by this. However, since I am not sure I can be uplifting in my discussion regarding it, I will wait to see what others think before I offer specific comments.
Tenaheff why are you so troubled by this? I remember this was brought up before (I think Nighthawk mentioned it). There are so many things that used to be done before that are discontinued today - these are the times we live in - times when things of Men change, but this does not mean that God has changed, we still look to him for counsel.
What troubles me with this is that it appears that for the convenience of administration, we are being denied an important tool in our quest for salvation. This doesn't seem right to me. I don't think this is the same as some of the other things that were changed as a result of revelation received. This appears to be just a convenience of the Church thing without the Lord saying we don't need the added benefits of the True Order of Prayer in our lives.
Although I understand your concern I personally do not see it as diminishing my opportunity to attain Salvation or be closer to my God. There are numerous references where simple men who did not have knowledge of this Order of Prayer saw both Angels and God Himself. One example of this: Joseph Smith.
