Sorry about that--I do remember reading that I just didn't realize it was from the same source.
I was wondering though if it would be possible to get a copy of the email that you sent him earlier in the thread? I would be real interested in looking at that if you don't mind.

Nighthawk, sent it to you via Email. You should recognize the blue and red. The green I have highlighted as a means to show the signs being given. I share this only with people that I know have been endowed. Hope that helps. |
That really is awesome-Thanks! Did he explain more about the other symbols and figures? I am trying to learn about these as I find them fascinating.
Sorry JB--I was referring to your mission companion. I have read the footnotes and am in the process of re-reading them with some new light. I was just curious if he brought any other insights.
He did not tell me more than pointing to the symbols and then what the footnotes said about those symbols. However that taught me a few things:
1. The scriptures really do reveal all, in fact I have marked many instances in the scriptures that reveal the endowment teachings.
2. You have to read everything, it is there for a reason (footnotes and all), and so often we tend to ignore what may seem trivial, that's why I never noticed it before and I was a missionary at the time reading the scriptures everyday!
Lastly, every part of the endowment is a teaching, many parts of it are not available, but had it been there today I wonder if we would have all the troubles we see now with wayward endowed members.
Changes in the endowment ceremony have more to do with time and the number of people coming for an endowment and less about the message being transmitted which in general is the same.
SALT LAKE CITY - Many members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who worshipped at an LDS temple this week saw something unexpected: a new film.
Since the 1970s, a portion of LDS temple instruction has been provided through pre-recorded media, including film. Beginning this week, a new temple film is being shown in several LDS temples. "The new temple film is the first update in more than 20 years," said church spokeswoman Ruth Todd. "There have been no changes to the script. English-language copies of the new film are being sent to temples over the next few weeks and will subsequently be translated into other languages." Ref. Source 8
