How do you join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints? |
To become a member of the Church is a process. One is not admitted to baptism unless one understands the requirements. The Church has 13 articles of faith where the 4th says:
QUOTE |
4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. |
So the process of becoming a member is in the same order as the article states. You have to have faith in Christ, and you need to repent from your sins. While you do this missionaries will teach you more about the gospel principles and ordinances. At the end of this period (varies from a couple of weeks to months) you will be interviewed before the baptism. If everything is OK you will be baptized and confirmed a member of the Church.
