Questioning What You Are Told
Please consider the following quote and place your thoughts about it within your reply:
"How many Catholic schools do you think teach the students to question the authority of the Pope? Do you believe Christian schools teach students to question or challenge the authority of Jesus Christ? Do military schools teach the cadets to challenge the authority of superior officers? Well, why should we then expect government schools to teach children to question the authority of government?"

Given this quote was from 1945 I would say for that time is was a real truth. We as citizens were not encouraged to seek verification as to what ads from the health board claimed, nor were even allowed to question the wisdom of our medical field. The government was always acting in our best interest after all they told us so on a regular biases and also to be sure not to rust Communism as that was an evil.
Today I think our governing bodies wish we did not have easy access to so many venues of information thus making challenging their policies and what they tell us is the absolute truth. They still how ever hold the news printing companies close top their chest and woe them into printed their biased accounts of what is seen in the world today. Luckily we can see reports from many countries allowing us to better see what actually is occurring for ourselves.
Like a good friend always said "There is only one truth just many versions of it."
