Comments: Modern art is way better than contemporary art when you consider the details that artist make now. Many contemporary pieces look so unfinished and are only popular because someone said they should be.

In the contemporary period they didn't have art stores where you walk in and buy the latest things, everything was virtually prepared by hand. I guess they had their own standards that weren't the same as now.
