I think bigfoot exists, but it is just a mutated version of another animal.

I believe that they do exist. Creatures have been seen all over the world, for years and years. They have even been seen as far south and east as Florida. There are plenty of websites that have tons of stories about Bigfoot.

I just have read the 'Lost World' topic (its in this thread) it was about a group of scientists that found a remote place and in that place they found new species of animals so the lesson is that there are species that escaped mankind eyes so it is possible we will find a "bigfoot" or a bigfoot like animal.

I think just desperation in trying to prove they are right. Only thing thing that might be a factor did they have more rain then normal in the area. I remember some one linked sighting to high rainfall in the area. Best I could understand was that the swamp level was higher forcing them to back up out of the swamp more thus being more exposed to being sighted.

There are many names for this large, hairy apelike creature: in northern California, the creature is known as Big Foot, in the Himalayan regions of India, Nepal and Tibet, it is known as The Abominable Snowman, in Canada - Sasquash, in Australia - Yowie and in Asia - the Yeti.

Big Foot has allegedly been sighted at least a hundred times around the world, since the middle of the nineteenth century. According to witnesses, Big Foot is about 7-10 feet (2-3 metres) tall, weighs over 500 pounds (225 kg) and has footprints about 17 inches (43 cm) long. He has reddish, dark brown hair and is extremely shy.

The mainstream of scientists have all dismissed the existence of Big Foot. They argue that the evidence which supports the belief in the survival of this prehistoric, apelike creature is very limited. Apart from lack of evidence, they claim that it is highly unusual for a large non human primate to live in temperate latitudes in the northern hemisphere. They also cite that all other non human apes are normally found living in the tropics, Africa and continental Asia or other islands nearby. Scientists have also argued that there are no bones, no artifacts, no dead bodies and no mothers with babies. Just sightings galore. Many have speculated that Big Foot was placed on earth, as an experiment for the aliens, to determine how long it could exist in our planet.

It has also been proven that most of the time, these so-called sightings or pictures of Big Foot were all a part of an elaborate hoax. There are some individuals who chose to capitalize on the gullibility of others, just to make a profit for themselves.

Personally, I do believe that such a creature does exist. I suspect that it could be prehistoric or perhaps, another type of primate. I am hoping that more evidence will eventually surface and may answer all our questions, concerning this creature.
