I wonder if that means I will have to give up my office and word 2007 that my company bought for us all at work? I know I like using it at work.

First, the judgment banned the sale of it. It said nothing about existing copies in use, so you should be fine no matter what .

Second, I cannot see that decision standing. It was made by a district court somewhere in Texas. The plaintiff is a small patent holding company nobody has heard of. They decision will be appealed, and Microsoft will not be on the losing end when all is said and done.

I always hated Word. Whenever I was asked to do a project I always tried to look for some other publisher to use. I will be glad if they get rid of it, Open Office is way better plus its free!

I agree with the sentiments expressed here. I have Microsoft Word for Mac, 2011, and it is slow. I prefer to use Pages by Apple: it is more faster and cleaner.
