Echoes of 'old' Ireland

Wandering around the hidden corners of Ireland seems a wonderful notion: one-pub villages connected by laneways shaded by old oak trees, paddocks filled with iridescent grass and fluffy sheep, rough stone fences leading to isolated farmhouses. Driving the back roads of Ireland should be a jaunt. Ref. Source 5

Dublin: A trip to the bright side

Bill the driver on our bus tour, has what is universally known as the gift of the gab. The Irish call it solabharthact. I call it hilarious. He's an official guide on the Dublin Bus tour double-deckers and, in that lovely sing-song dialect of the region, has his passengers in stitches. As well as giving us learned historic references to all sorts, he also injects a cheeky Irish note which is infectious. Ref. Source 5
