What Happens If A Mormon Drinks A Beer? Studies Doctrine Mormon
QUOTE If a Mormon goes to a party and drinks a beer what happens with his membership in the Mormon church?
He loses the Spirit as it relates to the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Can he get it back? Yes via repentance. If drinking becomes a problem whether it be social or holiday drinking or becomming a drunkard, then it becomes harder to repent because you have to give it up completely. He then may lose his right to participate in the partaking of the bread and water, leading prayer or teaching in Church, and a loss of the right to participate in the esoteric rites of temple worship.

Beer Drinks Mormon If What
QUOTE Loses the Spirit? For drinking a beer?
The Holy Spirit that is, yes.
QUOTE I think Mormons sometimes take everything to the extreme to be honest and that's why sometimes we're accused of being fanatical.
You don't think a Mormon, knowing the Word of Wisdom, wouldn't lose the companionship of the Holy Ghost after (and during) drinking a beer? What do you think the requirements are to keep the companionship of the Holy Ghost and why would this be considered fanatical relative to other Christian sects in light of say, Matthew 5:22?

What If Mormon Drinks Beer
QUOTE Nothing happens if a Mormon drinks a beer once
According to LDS doctrine, disobedience to the commandments result in loss of the Spirit. As I mentioned before, true repentance will restore it.
QUOTE just like nothing happens when a Mormon who doesn't drink beer eats meat every day,
Eating meat every day is not a violation of any commandment; certainly not the WoW of which only five things are commandments for us.
QUOTE he/she is obese
I lost 70 lbs on the Atkins induction program not top long ago.
QUOTE and doesn't exercise but hey they abstain from alcohol.
The WoW is a model. There are five things expressly forbidden and everything else merely shows us we should watch what we ingest and take care of our bodies.
