Mormon View On Remote Viewing, Clairvoyance, Esp, Astral Project

I have studied this before I was an LDS and it has always intrigued me. I always felt there was some truth to it. Just recently I have been studying these topics extensively and have always wanting to further my light and knowledge in truth now matter where I found it. I tried a few examples and exercises and there have been some VERY interesting results.

Most of my research was done through "Remote viewing" Which the US government actually used millions to research in the 70's which basically consists of consciously tapping into anything in the Universe. (Google "Stargate Project") The remote viewer will pick up shapes, smells, textures, feelings and even information about a place, person... You can pick up anything you want essentially. It's very hard to do and is more pushing out imagination and daily overruling thoughts and allowing your mind to think clearly and effectively than anything else.

So I thought I would give it a shot and I asked that my wife help me participate in this research. I would have her think of an everyday object, try to draw it out in her mind and make the "Intent" Of "Sending" It to my thoughts. To my complete amazement, most times, I was spot on (I mean DEAD on) and others I was able to somewhat describe it correctly but unable to identify it.

I wanted to bring this to the boards not only to get opinions whether they believe it exists or not (I am already convinced myself it's possible) but also to see if they feel this is something we should explore or leave alone as LDS. I feel if we are responsible, we can and should explore this but what do you feel?

Also, I would like to get opinions on HOW this could work. My theory is that we are tapping into our pre-existing condition and potential as sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. I don't think we necessarily GIVEN exaltation but rather we are able to unlock our existing potential by being perfected in Christ and following His path.

So what are your thoughts?

Comments: From my own experience it is possible to connect to the collective consciences of the earth. We all have spirits who lived with God and in coming to earth to inhabit a physical body (the natural man). Our spirit can communicate with other spirits and relay to our minds those communications. Hubby and wife can do this. Great success comes when we practice "REAL INTENT" There are many gifts of the spirit not mentioned in Sec. 46 although those are the most important ones. It's as simple as tuning a radio in theory, but it takes practice, practice. I know that our country has spied on other countries using remote viewing and the other part of this formula is being able to "DOWSE" or in other words find the exact location of the target(sub base). My scriptural studies show that the earth has a spirit, is a large creature who is going through progression just as we are. Her spirit is female (mother earth) the mother of Adams physical body. And it is through that spirit that our spirit communicates with. As always both of these disciplines must be started with prayer that we be not influenced by those 'other spirits.'
When you've got some time take a look at the references for 'EARTH' and in the P of GP look up Enoch's conversation with mother earth. I believe she feels the same way today.

Funny you mention the other spirits. While meditating, I came across imps/evil spirits that were literally trying to frighten me and gnash their teeth upon me. It was very upsetting. From that point on, I made sure to offer a prayer and there have been a few times that I was not able to do anything in remote viewing as if being held back and protected.

Great insights about the Earth! I've known of the Earth going through her own progression but it never occurred to me that she is the physical parent of Adam! Great stuff!

Before I found the Church and a little after, I studied all kinds of strange things. Hypnosis NLP, remote viewing, mind control, other religions, sales and seduction techniques. I was of the mind, that the truth is where you find it. For example, the Scriptures don't say the sky is blue, however the sky is blue. Now that I have actually found the truth, I feel that continuing to seek other sources, is a waist of time. There is so much to learn, right in the standard works, that I try to keep my focus there. We are told that we should keep an eye single to the Lord. I think that is where the blessings are found.

What an interesting topic. I think it is possible. At the same time, what method do you use for remote viewing? I ask because you mentioned some encounters with evil spirits and that shouldn't happen.

Generally I start by sitting down cross-legged and try to clear my mind of all thoughts. Sometimes I will allow myself (usually through what I suppose is imagination at first) to leave my body. I am by no means an expert and in fact new to this. It could very well have been my imagination but it seemed to "out of my control" to be this. In fact, I am pretty sure I received inspiration from this encounter that I should leave immediately after seeing such things and pray to Heavenly Father.

I feel also at this time of clear thinking that I can better come closer to Godl and receive revelation.

There is a Thread somewhere in this Community where I Discussed Remote Viewing in much detail. I do not think it was within the LDS Board, but if memory serves me right there was a guy out of Maryland who is also LDS and he was part of a documentary about his abilities. He describes one moment where he was in a desert and saw helicopters and so forth and could describe a future event. He also similarly described things you are mentioning. I do believe in astral travel per se, as I believe for the spirit to leave the body will mean death, but I do believe in the gift of prophecy, a gift God has indicated that He wished all His children has. I believe maybe some people have an untapped source or gift, but I can make no declaration about it, only my opinion.

Googaloo, there are some Topics of which I will be interested in learning your point of view within other Boards within the Community, namely the Paranormal Board and the Threads dealing with CIA experiments (Military Tactics Board).
