New finding of particle physics may help to explain the absence of antimatter. With the help of computer simulations, particle physics researchers may be able to explain why there is more matter than antimatter in the Universe. The simulations offer a new way of examining conditions after the Big Bang, and could provide answers to some fundamental questions in particle physics. Source 4t.

It's ok not to fully understand something. Just because science can't explain something yet, huge emphasis on yet, doesn't mean that it's mystic in origin. Mankind has always thrown myth at what it can't comprehend.

Dark matter on the move. Scientists have found evidence that dark matter can be heated up and moved around, as a result of star formation in galaxies. The findings provide the first observational evidence for the effect known as 'dark matter heating', and give new clues as to what makes up dark matter. Source 1z.

Physicists have found a way to 'hear' dark matter. Physicists at Stockholm University and the Max Planck Institute for Physics have turned to plasmas in a proposal that could revolutionise the search for the elusive dark matter. Source 4u.

Seeing dark matter in a new light. A small team of astronomers have found a new way to 'see' the elusive dark matter haloes that surround galaxies, with a new technique 10 times more precise than the previous-best method. Source 8b.

Dark Matter

New study suggests supermassive black holes could form from dark matter. A new theoretical study has proposed a novel mechanism for the creation of supermassive black holes from dark matter. The international team find that rather than the conventional formation scenarios involving 'normal' matter, supermassive black holes could instead form directly from dark matter in high density regions in the centres of galaxies. The result has key implications for cosmology in the early Universe. Source 1j.

How galaxies can exist without dark matter. Astrophysicists report how, when tiny galaxies collide with bigger ones, the bigger galaxies can strip the smaller galaxies of their dark matter -- matter that we can't see directly, but which astrophysicists think must exist because, without its gravitational effects, they couldn't explain things like the motions of a galaxy's stars.
