'Healthy' peanuts to hit stores next year
Two new kinds of peanuts that can help keep hearts in good shape offer new food for thought for the health-conscious.
The peanuts are high in oleic acid, a type of unsaturated fat that raises levels of good cholesterol to prevent arteries from clogging. They also lower the bad cholesterol that damages the heart.
Seeds of these strains are commercially available, and some farmers planted them this year. Officials expect the new peanuts, developed by researchers at the Agriculture Department and Texas A&M University, to start showing up in products on grocery shelves next year.

I love eating peanuts, but I haven't had any in a while. I wonder if these will still taste the same or if they will actually be healthier.

They sells roasted peanuts at the local fairs and flea markets (rummage sale). I really like them warm and shelled with no salt. It has been months since I had peanuts. But of course, it has been months since I have been to a fair or gone to a flea market.
I love roasted peanuts, they are delicious, here in Trinidad the people make great roasted peanuts but I am always very careful to eat too many of them because of their high fat content . I don't know how the ones the article talks about taste but if it is a healthy thing I bet do not taste as nice as the original one.
