ABC breached code
Local Australia News
The communications watchdog has found the ABC broke the rules on impartiality for the first time in seven years. The Australian Communications and Media Authority found the Adelaide radio station 5AN breached the impartiality requirements of the ABC code of practice on April 5 during an interview with the former South Australian deputy premier Kevin Foley. The authority found the presenters displayed fixed prejudgments on the topics discussed, asked loaded questions and used disparaging language, but it dismissed a claim the broadcast had communicated prejudice on grounds of sex and disability.
