Well, Nighthawk's recent pic of Oberon inspired me to add a pic of my buddy, Cody. Take a peek of his picture in the gallery if you are interested. I remember trying to add this pic a while back but the picture restriction didn't allow for it at the time. Enjoy!

Introduction Malexander

Hey Xander, I just read your blog and other threads about exercising. I just want to tell you to keep it up! It is great that you want to be fit for health issues and also it is great to be a concerned parent. I think children learn by example, if they see the parents exercising and trying to have a healthy lifestyle, they would follow it. smile.gif Felipe loves to exercise with me, I usually put a video at home and we exercise together. *smile*. Keep up the good work!.

Thanks for the encouragement! I really feel the same way when it comes to motivating my daughter. I wouldn't feel right telling her to go out and exercise more while I sat on the couch eating Pringles and getting thumb exercises with the remote. I could tell she had a lot of fun running with me yesterday evening, and I feel she will stay with the routine if she knows I am there with her. Hopefully we'll have some positive results to report.

Oh yeah, you bet!. You two are going to do just fine. smile.gif Also remember that exercising may cause your appetite to increase so make sure the wife prepares some nice but low fat nutricious meals...but you know, don't starve yourself but you can find great ideas of low fat meals that are also tasty and if you cannot give up the junk food like me then once in a while you can eat some *laughs*. If you are a meat lover, then a small piece of meat and LOTS of salad or other vegetables are the perfect meal (of course NOT with a whole bunch of mayo or salad dressing!, just a little bit) White meats like chicken and turkey are the best.

Have fun! and...I am going to eat all the rotis of Trinidad before leaving to Argentina, can you imagine! Oh my gosh, I am REALLY going to miss the food here *sigh* I better start cooking more local dishes so I can cook them over there *laughs*.

So how is the diet going? I noticed that I lost weight immediately after I stopped drinking pop, or at least went to diet. Are you still sore? Hopefully you are getting to the point where you aren't feeling like you have been stretched out on a rack for three hours! laugh.gif

Malexander Introduction

Sorry I didn't respond earlier Konquererz. I've been super busy the last few days at work. Yes, the diet and exercise has been going well. I haven't had a regular pop in a week and have been drinking diet sodas, because I still need the caffeine. I'm watching my caloric intake and trying to perform some sort of physical activity every day. I've also started eating breakfast in the morning; something I never did before. It's supposed to stimulate my metabolism for the rest of the day. Like I said in my blog, I purposely haven't weighed myself, because I am focusing more on being able to fit in clothes better, etc. Once I see a change there, then I will pay attention to pounds, etc. I've been running less because it is so much of a toil on my knees and feet, and resorted to using my Gazelle machine instead. So long as my heart rate is increased for a prolonged period of time, then I should be ok. Thanks for asking!

Xander, I just read your blog. I thought you might like to hear that my sister and her husband found themselves in the same situation. They did the credit counseling thing and now own a home of their own. It was within a year of paying off their debt too. Their interest rate is a little higher than it would be if they hadn't had these credit problems, but even that is temporary. Refinancing is always an option a year or two down the road.

Thanks for the encouragement, Tena. Sometimes I wonder if we will ever get over the hump, but then I realize how much in debt we were 5 years ago, and where we are now, and it makes me confident that one day I will look back at these times as a learning experience. Thanks again!
