Malexander Introduction - Page 34

Thanks JB, like I mentioned in my blog, I have an array of mixed emotions, because buying a house is such an undertaking, but I am mostly excited to becoming a homeowner. We put the offer in and the seller's agent came back to our agent stating that they accepted it. As part of the acceptance, we had to pay them earnest money which is not insignificant, so it will be very difficult for them to pull out, although not impossible.
I've already scheduled an inspection for Wednesday, so they know we mean business. They are moving out of town, so most likely they are trying to get their things in order before they leave as well.
Yes, my wife is still in school, and she expects to be done in 2007. Our move won't affect her ability to travel to school since we're pretty much staying on the same side of town. We did that so our kids wouldn't have to switch schools, especially my daughter who is going to Middle School next year. As for me, I will actually be closer to work and our day care provider, so that is definitely a plus. I'll update my blog/rave thread as I find out more. We are all going to look at the house again today with the kids and my in-laws.

Introduction Malexander

Sincere congratulations my friend, mingled with condolences! Home ownership is one of the most satisfying, and yet the most aggravating, situations in life. You can paint any room in the house any color you want without asking permission, but if the hot water heater breaks down, guess who has to pay for it? Make sure your home inspection person is on top of things! Check for subterranean termites as well as wood termites. Congratulations, and I look forward to hearing about how everything goes.

Best wishes,
Roz

Congrats on the house Male! I'm excited for you as well, I have not been able to make that jump yet, but maybe in a few years. Make sure they inspect the new house well, my parents didn't have a good inspection on their house and some hidden problems came out later, very costly.

Its good to see you are getting better from all the sinus problems, it gives me hope that mine too can end. I was really surprised to hear that your child had molars and not an ear infection, I suppose that good news because you won't have to use anti-biotics, but cutting teeth can take awhile, poor kid!

Malexander Introduction

Hi Malexander, I was wondering what the doctor said about your little guy's mouth infection? What was his diagnosis and what is the treatment to follow? I hope he is feeling better, poor thing! All the best.

Thanks for asking. I am really so frustrated that I didn't say anything intentionally. However I am better now, so I'll vent. I take him in, the doctor basically makes me feel like I am overreacting. He examines him for 10 seconds, then takes a strep culture and tells me we have to wait for the results. So, I ask him for a prescription for the pain and discomfort at least, since Children's Motrin and Tylenol is not working. He says he can't give him anything stronger than that.
So once again last night, my son was up half the night screaming in pain. He finally got a couple of hours of sleep this morning, probably from exhaustion. Strep results are negative, so I guess we just wait it out. I absolutely detest going to the doctor.

Malexander, I understand your frustration, but considering the results of the test was negative you have to admit that it was good of the doctor not to prescribe something that may have worsen the problem. It might be that your son is gravely allergic to something? I do hope you find a solution as I am well aware of what it means to be up all night.
