Commandant Gen. Jim Amos announced Tuesday that Marines in uniform are now authorized to wear so-called killed-in-action bracelets recognizing friends who've fallen in combat or died from wounds sustained on the battlefield. Ref. Source 7

Bracelets Action Killed

I can see the good and bad in this. The good is remembering those who passed on but for me I don't need an item to do that and I definitely don't have to be wearing it all the time. The bad in my opinion is that you are constantly remembering that there is a high risk of death from service in the military. People who see you wearing it also remember, not too good if you're looking for new recruits.
