An interesting point was brought up today during a case of a 'deportee' gang in which the judge stated that the right to a speedy trial is not enshrined in the Trinidad & Tobago Constitution, my question... Why isn't it?

Because our constitution has to change and that's what the last administration has been trying to do without much success. The problem is that once you allow change in the constitution, anything could happen.
