LDS_forever has won the latest Mother's Day Contest which included a featured thread about her being a mother. In here she is allowed to post her feelings about being a mother and anyone else can then feel free to respond.
Thanks for this wonderful opportunity. Today I was in Church and my son was getting very tired in Sacrament Meeting and I was thinking how much patience I have developed since I become a mother, I also realized how patience I am when other children are around me making noise, it seems like motherhood open a new window in my life, one I never expect and it is teaching me so much about myself and the great responsibility that I have. My son fall down today and had a 'boo-boo', I cleaned his little wound and put a band-aid and kiss it. Those moments are treasurable in my life because I remember myself being a little one and having my grandmother doing that for me and those things are so important for our children, more than we can realize. I have so much to learn still, but I do hope I have the ability that it takes to raise my child in righteousness, one of the most important qualities I want to teach him is being an empathetic person and serving others. Sometimes I wonder how he will be when he grow up more, sometimes I think if I am really a good mom, sometimes I think how blessed I am in being a mother. Today I heard that Motherhood is the highest calling a person can ever have on Earth. That touched me deeply, I hope to be always worthy of such a blessing.

Don't they know that anyone who has had a child has been in their shoes and understands their discomfort? |
Congratulations mom! Guess its about to be double trouble in the house for mom soon. Having three kids, I can tell you that the second one is just as big of a change as the first. However, the third one is easier to bring along! Hope you had a wonderful mothers day, you deserve it!
