Adam-ondi-ahman

Adam-ondi-Ahman

The text was written by William Wines Phelps and was also included in the first LDS hymnbook in 1835. The tune name for "Adam-ondi-Ahman" is "Prospect of Heaven," an anonymous melody taken from a popular Christian songbook called Southern Harmony, published in 1835. This hymn was sung at the dedication of the Kirtland Temple. Ref. Source 6

Adam-ondi-ahman

Adam-ondi-Ahman is such a great hymn, my only regret about it is that choristers do not choose it more often! Maybe they are afraid of it for some reason or think not many know how to sing it well enough.
