This thread is different from the one concerning jewelry. This thread focuses on the actual CTR ring. CTR means Choose the Right. It comes from one of the Primary themes and is often symbolized by the letters 'C T R' on a green shield background. Primary children are given the rings to wear after learning the meaning of it. It is like an affirmation that is supposed to invigorate the mind to 'Choose the Right'. Nothing mystical, and no 'power' is derived from the ring, it is merely used as a symbol.

Do you still have one? Do you wear one? Have you thought about getting one? There are many styles available now including gold, silver or the original look.

I don't recall ever having one. My daughter has one now, and she wears it sometimes, but has lost a couple already at school so I don't let her wear it to school anymore.

I would actually like to have one, even if I didn't wear it all the time smile.gif

I voted no, but it appears to have counted my vote as occasionally.

I haven't owned a CTR ring since I was in Primary.

However, my oldest daughter has a nice CTR ring that she wears all the time. My oldest son has a RWH (Return With Honor) ring that he wears as he prepares to go on a mission.

I have one that I wear all the time, I notice it helps me a lot to remember to choose the right (we are so much like little children sometimes that are need of symbols in order to learn better). My CTR ring have reminded me several times not to say something that I may regret later. My son doesn't have one as yet (he may eat it rolleyes.gif ). But definetly I would want him to wear one in the future.
I remember Elder Perry talking about how he received as a gift a CTR tie tack from a little boy, this little boy was a boy scout and he said that one day he went camping and all the boys were smoking and they offered him a cigarrete and he took it, when he was going to light the cigarrete he saw his CTR ring on his right hand and remember the words of choosing the right. He throw away the cigarrete and this is the happy ending of this story. Elder Perry said that he still weraing that CTR tie back that helps him to remember to choose the right. smile.gif

I don't have a CTR ring, but I'd love to get the Noah's Ark one. I just don't feel like dishing out the money right now. I think that they are a great way to be reminded of who we are and what we stand for. I understand those who think they are too cliche', but I think they can be helpful.

I don't remember ever having one. Back when I was in primary, it wasn't a big thing. My kids all got one though. Where I live here in Arizona, even some non LDS youth get them.

I used to be in a military based scout program (six-seven years old) that had a lot of marching, in order to remember which was right turn I would wear my trusty CTR ring on my right hand! Later in life I bought a silver one to remind me of certain promises I made to the Lord.
