Singing Your Testimony

Is singing your testimony OK? Today someone sang rather than talk out the words and it felt weird but at the same time I thought why not? The scriptures talk about singing praises to god.

I personally wouldn't do it, I think its too much of a distraction from what everyone is used too. It may start a bad habit and if you can't sing well it will really cause everything to focus more on that than the meeting.
