Last Mississippi Clinic Sends Woman to Hospital After Botched Abortion
An ambulance arrived at the Jackson Women's Health Organization, the only abortion clinic in Mississippi, at about 12:20 p.m. On Wednesday, August 7, and transported a female patient who emerged from the clinic in Mississippi on a gurney. The pale-skinned, brown-haired woman was covered head to toe with a blanket.

Mississippi is angling to become the latest state to approve a bill to ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, following several other states in doing so and coinciding with pending legislation in Congress. Ref. Source 4
Mississippi Governor Signs Ban on Abortions After 20 Weeks
Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant has signed a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy and protect unborn babies who feel tremendous pain during an abortion procedure.
The measure is similar to legislation pending in Congress and in other states that points to the pain babies feel in abortions as a reason to ban them. The bill, which bans abortions after five months of pregnancy passed in both the state House and Senate, by a 41-10 margin. Ref. Source 4
More than 500 female athletes, including Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird, call on Supreme Court to reject the Mississippi abortion law. In an amicus brief filed with the Supreme Court, the athletes cited the impact of "Bodily integrity and decisional autonomy" on their sports careers. The law would prohibit abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. Source 7x.
