It will be interesting to see how Obama and his advisors handle "The Iraq Situation." This is one of those things that will be analyzed by historians 100 years from now, asking how we could have been so blind?

They will handle everything the SAME. Obama promised a new revolution and change, but he goes and picks the same old people from the last Administration. What did Clinton do about Iraq, there is your answer right there.
The whole Iraq affair has left a permanent mark on the mind of the Islamic world and it is not a favorable one. It also leaves a mark on those who feel sovereignty is an issue. The US showed that no country is sovereign and that it can be invaded at anytime on a 'hunch'. Remember the days when we would key in: "WMD".

You're probably right, JB. I honestly don't see how putting "the usual suspects" in positions of power (again) will make anything different. The Iraq battlefield is just one of many problems Obama's "change" team will have on their plates.

Report: Bush masked cost of wars that could top $1.7 trillion
Even if Barack Obama draws down troops in Iraq like he's promised, a new report finds the US is on pace to have spent nearly $2 trillion on military operations including Iraq and Afghanistan over the next decade.

That should make some interesting reading, don't you think?
