I agree it would be and interesting read. I still think much would be left unsaid. Mainly the back door decisions that lead up to the formal discussions.

Blair might not be in office but his party still is and there are some UK politicians with blood on their hands. I think it is imporant that architects of war and lies are held accountable.

If we adopted a "who cares" attitude, no war criminals would ever be brought to justice, even though there are some countries and politicians that will never be brought to justice, such as the most recent architects of war in a country not too far away from Iraq.

I also think it is important to establish the truth so that lessons can hopefully be learned. Yes, Blair and Bush wont go to jail, but perhaps their credibility will be so tarnished that US universities and think tanks will stop paying Blair ludicrous amounts of money to speak at their events.

From the poll I chose "Saddam needed to be removed, but not in this way". I never support dictators. It's the most selfish form of government and so it was good Saddam was removed, but that should have been done by his own people and not the US.

Here is a very interesting interview with an Iraqi refugee living in Sacramento, CA. What a horrible experience this family went through before coming to America.

He says if the US Army pulls out of Iraq now, it will be a "sea of blood."

QUOTE
More than two dozen Iraqi refugees have followed Saliba and his family to Sacramento in the past year. The city's low cost of living, diverse population and abundance of entry-level jobs make it ideal for refugees who arrive without any family connections in the United States. Saliba spends his free time helping out the new arrivals, sharing tips, answering questions and helping them find services.

He continues to follow the U.S. Occupation of Iraq closely. He believes almost all Iraqis are thankful for freedom.

"We are very glad," Saliba said.

He said the violence has been mostly the fault of neighboring Islamic regimes sending militants-like his Saudi Arabian kidnappers-to destabilize the fledgling government and the reconstruction effort. He thinks neighboring countries are worried that if freedom and stability come to Iraq, those religious governments will lose control of their people.

He believes the United States should stay in Iraq for at least another five years. "If the Army comes out now, you know what will happen to Iraq?" he asks. "It will be a sea of blood."

Yes I can see that as if the Iraq government is established and is not based on religion and proves it can be stable and bring peace that is a huge threat to the neighbors religious movements that hold parliament. It would make sense they would see the populace wanting to move to the freedom seen in Iraq. So tumble the infant before it can learn to run.

I heard yesterday that the government of Iraq has banned Blackwater from the country. I think this is a good first step of the government getting what they want out there.

Interestingly enough everyone has been looking for Obama to make an Executive order to bring the troops home by a certain date, however he has given orders to send out three military brigades including army, marines and trainers.

Maybe he sees what Klar was saying that the country is not yet ready and to leave would be to let a bigger issue arise later. So instead go in hard and pound out some of the issues.
