People are tired with Iraq

Or are they really tired with the US? Think about it, if Russia went into Iraq under the same banner the US did would the world accept it? No! People are so used to the US doing these kinds of things that they do not even bother to show interest in it once the climax has worn down.

From CNN:

U.S. forces in Iraq captured one of the most wanted bad guys of Saddam
Hussein's former regime...Could the seizure of Gen. Abid Hamid Mahmud,
Saddam's personal secretary and senior bodyguard, lead to information about
his boss? And does he know anything about Iraq's alleged possession of weapons
of mass destruction? I'll talk to CNN analyst Ken Pollack about the capture of
this "very big fish".

This new guy that the US caught is not going to say a word about Saddam, this people are willing to die before to betray, so I don't think there will be any hope to find out where really is Saddam Hussein.

I heard the announcement on the radio when they caught the latest guy.  The reporter also speculated, that he didn't think that this guy would speak a word about anything.  (I have also heard that same sentence used about the others they have caught).  I have also heard the speculation, that the President was fed mis-information about the weapons of mass destruction.

I strongly believe that Bush did not have ALL the facts before he delcared war on Iraq.  If my memory serves, (it does fail me from time to time) the US did not offically declare war until after the first bomb was dropped.  I still don't remember how one minute we were at war with Afganistan, and the next minute to preparing for war with Iraq.  In my opinion, I know that Saddam was a not-so sane man.  But did he really pose a threat for war?  Or was it the fact that the US military intelligence just made up the WMD?  I mean, Russia has WMD, and many other countries have them too.  So, is Bush going to declare war with everyone else to eliminate all the WMD?  I mean the US has them too, so isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black?

From the beginning I said if the US is demanding of other countries to get rid of the WMD then they should give the example and gave up theirs :smile.gif but...:smile.gif

One of the UK ministers that resigned when the UK join forces with the USA in this war said that the USA exagerated the subject of the WMD. The name itself will give the impression that Iraq had this weapons that could destroy the whole world and she said it is NOT the case. That Iraq did have weapons for experiments and stuff but they could not really be a threat for the whole wide world. At least that's what she said. Personally, I don't defend Saddam because the guy is evil, what makes me angry is the position of the USA of demand something of another country when themselves have the same thing and they said that the difference is that they (the USA) are going to use it for good purposes but not the other countries....but who is judging who use it for good or for evil? :smile.gif the UN? no...the USA? :smile.gif yes.

So, Saddam did get away? Why did he leave all that money behind?

From Deseret News:

SADDAM STILL ALIVE, EX--AIDE INSISTS
A top lieutenant to Saddam Hussein has told U.S. interrogators that the Iraqi
leader and his two sons survived the U.S.-led war in Iraq and that he himself
had fled to Syria with the sons after the conflict, Defense Department officials
said on Friday.

I wonder if this one is a lie like the one about the Museum artifacts?

TONS OF MISSING URANIUM LOCATED
Experts from the U.N. atomic agency have accounted for tons of uranium feared
looted from Iraq's largest nuclear research facility, diplomats said Friday.

Recently the British have admitted that they may have entered the war on not so sound evidence and hinted that it was all a mistake. Blair has been busy trying to protect himself and defend what looks to be a 'setup' to get the British to enter the war with the US on the presumption that WMD would be found easily. This too when 6 British soldiers were killed. At the very same time an Iraqi scientist happens to come forward with some nuclear hardware? One cannot help but wonder what the truth is really. Was this war for other motives than what was told to the public? Are their really WMD?

NUKE PROGRAM PARTS UNEARTHED IN BAGHDAD

The CIA has in its hands the critical parts of a key piece of Iraqi nuclear
technology -- parts needed to develop a bomb program -- that were dug up in a
back yard in Baghdad, CNN has learned.

This to me is sick. It is one thing to just kill innocent people for a radical cause, but to do it in the name of religion is even worse. What is more sad is that these types continue to give Islam a bad name.

CLERIC 'APPROVED CHURCH BOMBINGS'

Radical Indonesian cleric Abu Bakar Ba'asyir approved the bombings of several
churches and planned to assassinate President Megawati Sukarnoputri, a
Malaysian militant has told a court in Jakarta.

Have you ever wondered how they come up with these figures? For one thing I was wondering why the price on Bin Laden's head is higher than Saddam's?

From CNN: U.S. offers $25 million reward for information leading to capture of Saddam Hussein, or proof of his death, officials say.
