I wanna go home... that almost sounds like Vietnam:

Troop morale in Iraq hits 'rock bottom'
Soldiers stress is a key concern as the Army ponders whether to send
more forces. By Ann Scott Tyson

While watching the news today I saw a male soldier physically searching a female Iraqi. Knowing how the men their feel about the sanctity of women I am sure those kinds of things make them all fired up in their minds about the US presence. I doubt the US can do anything about that since there may not be a lot of female soldiers to do those physical searches.

With a slumping economy and soldiers that just want to go home I am not sure Bush is going to make it to a second term. It seems that if it were up to him he would want to press Iran or Syria, but I believe his war dance is loosing rythmn at the moment.

BUSH: Who me? Nah, it was not my fault! Blame it on the CIA, I just say what they tell me to say.

CIA: If that were true Mr. President we would be invading Cuba already.

Does Bush think he will win points by blaming those who advise him for his shortcoming as a leader? This is the whole point that the world was/is making... what is thr rush to start a war?

BUSH BLAMES CIA FOR N-SLIP
President Bush on Friday put responsibility squarely on the CIA for his
erroneous claim that Iraq tried to acquire nuclear material from Africa,
prompting the director of intelligence to publicly accept full blame for the
miscue.

TENET: 16 WORDS 'A MISTAKE'

A line in President Bush's State of the Union address alleging that Iraq was
trying to buy uranium in Africa should never been included in the speech, CIA
Director George Tenet said Friday.

President Bush said he remains confident in CIA Director
George Tenet, after he took responsibility for a line in Bush's
State of the Union address citing British allegations that Iraq
was trying to buy uranium in Africa. We'll get the latest information
from National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, just back from
the President's trip to Africa. We'll also get perspective
from two top senators: Republican Richard Shelby of Alabama and
Democrat Carl Levin of Michigan...and later, analysis from former
Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and former National Security
Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski.

It figures that Bush was fed misinformation.  It just amazes me how Bush can still have any kind of confidence in his CIA director.  I mean, the dude has lied to him once.  What if this sort of thing happens again?  Is Bush still going to have confidence in Tenet?  Or will Bush discharge Tenet from his duties?  The whole thing is a fraud.  If it had been someone in a lower position, they probably would have fired the person.  The news is saying that Bush had no place to even mention anything about Iraq in his State of the Union Address.  Did he say it just to shift the attention from Bin Laden to Hussein and still keep the public's interest with Bush's War on Terrorism?

It amazes me too! What we are seeing here is that the Bush administration is willing to allow a lie here or there from it's own advisors. What if his advisors start to feed him mis-information on the American public? Does that make any difference? And how come everything that came out of Iraq prior to war, were taken as lies, lies and more lies ..... never an iota of doubt that they may be telling a little truth?

And now the CIA is pointing their fingers to the British, and the British point to another country (Italy was mentioned in some press), and on and on ..... eventually Rumsfeld, Rice, Fleisher, and Bush are going to dig themselves deeper and deeper into the hole.

Ok, now Bush claims that 'He had darn good intelligence on Iraq'.  Yea, whatever.  :smile.gif  If it was such good intelligence, where's the WMD?

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush said Monday he had "darn good intelligence" on Iraq despite his disputed State of the Union claim that Baghdad sought to purchase uranium from Africa.

Guess they aren't that intelligent wink.gif

As for the troops being there day by day, what does he hope to accomplish really? Now they are even firing missiles at planes!

MISSILE MISSES PLANE IN IRAQ
In a marked escalation in attacks, suspected insurgents tried to shoot down a
U.S. transport plane with a surface-to-air missile Wednesday, killed an American
soldier in a convoy and gunned down the mayor of an Iraqi city.

Poor guy commits suicide? Or does he? Do you think the British Iraqi Inspector who recently turned up dead really killed himself or is this aa ploy by the UK to hide something? What do you think?

Also, I am sure many in the US must be wondering... was this war really worth it? What do you think would happen when most of the US forces leave? Maybe a regroup of Saddam's followers to try and take over government?

Hmmm, I've got a conspiracy theory.  ;)  There is some talk of shadow governments that work in secret behind the scenes and without knowledge of other government officials.  I find it difficult to believe that this guy just committed suicide.  Especially after the news of the 'white lie' from the CIA advisor.  It appears to be alittle too convient.  I think that some form of 'shadow government' made it appear that this guy killed himself.  Especially during the announcement of the probe into the intelliegence surrounding the war in Iraq.  But then again, the guy may have killed himself to avoid revealing what he knows and possibily facing any consequences.

Hmmm, I begin to wonder if it was worth it.  It just seemed to be one political move to try and keep the US people opinion high of Bush.  But it seems like some of the American people aren't backing these decisions.  If they ever pull the US forces out of Iraq, I think that many of Saddam's followers will try and bring back the old ways of their government.  That's if Saddam himself doesn't come back and run things from the background.
