Do the Sunnis think Iraq is better now? I am sure under their rule they may make it as rigid as the taliban did with Afghanistan or maybe not?

Well this is both interesting for my last post and sad for Iraq's future:

REPORT: KEY CLERIC KILLED IN IRAQ BLAST

A car bomb at the Imam Ali Mosque in Najaf killed at least 17 people,
including the Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim, the Shiite leader of the
Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq, according to a Shiite
spokesman.

It is sad.  It is even more sad to see that this country, which has a real chance to get a jumpstart, is already being torn by internal religious strife.

The death of Mr. Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim was very predictable. Actually I thought that they may want to try to kill him. Maybe he step out from Iran too quick when the USA formally end the bombing in Iraq. Maybe he could wait a bit longer? who knows, I feel sad about it.

The new target: Religious sites? Further proof that these terrorists are not operating with the backing of Allah. I think they operate with insanity. How do you bring insane people to understand peace? You can't. We are seing the beginning of the end of days.

So, another new take on the situation. Bad accounting and inventory control on Iraq's part. But the last paragraph of this article are of interest too!

Interesting article, but I think anything can be used as an excuse really, besides.... accounting is just what is counted in the latter stages of the exchange process wink.gif who is to say that something is not hidden before it is counted, let alone after.

My question is... where is Saddam?

Isn't one of the great tenets of democracy sounds something like "no taxation without representation"? In this case, no financial help without representation in the rebuilding decision making.

Bush recruits global backing for Iraq
President George W. Bush personally courted world support for his policy about-face on Iraq, which calls for seeking money and troops even from nations that opposed the US-led invasion
