versus U.S.A. So, now that the USA left Iraq can the country rebuild herself and become stable?

Well of course this is expected, but will a 'course' make a difference when you see death on a daily basis?

U.S. TROOPS IN IRAQ TO GET REFRESHER IN BATTLEFIELD MORALITY

Amid allegations that American forces massacred civilians in Iraq, a top U.S. general has ordered that troops be given a refresher course in "core warrior values" and "the importance of adhering to legal, moral and ethical standards on the battlefield."

Post War Iraq History & Civil Business Politics

If this indeed is true, it is a great victory for the war on terror in general. Al-Zarqawi, more so than Bin Laden or Zawahiri, was on the ground, in the trenches, leading and taking part in numerous terrorist activities, in Iraq and around the world. I hate to sound jubilant in the death of another human being, but in my opinion, he was not human, and the only negative from this is that his organization, and terrorists around the world, herald his death as martydom and honorable.

Isn't this the third time they've said they have him? I'm a little skeptical, but I suppose it could be true. If so, as you say malexander, it's a two-fold issue: one is the death of a true terrorist; the other is that his followers will be charged up to continue his lead. I'm not sure it's any kind of victory.

I really believe that he is dead.
Last night on the late news, they actually showed a picture of him lying dead with him layed out. I feel that the authorities have had to do this to alleviate people's fears that there may be a cover up.

The brutal murders that Al Zarqawi committed against people have been atrocious, including the beheading of British man Ken Bigley who he had kept hostage for several weeks.

Ken Bigley's 80 year old Mother still has no knowledge as to where her Son's body is, and this has added to her grieving.

Al-Zarqawi: A life drenched in blood

It was the end of a strange but murderous career. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was a little-known Jordanian petty criminal turned Islamic fundamentalist fanatic until he was denounced by the US in 2003 as an insurgent leader of great importance.

This enabled him to recruit men and raise money to wage a cruel war, mostly against Iraqi civilians. In a macabre innovation, he staged beheadings of Western hostages such as Ken Bigley which were then uploaded to the internet to ensure maximum publicity.

AL-ZARQAWI DEAD, BUT FIGHT CONTINUES

Officials say the extermination of al Qaeda's leader in Iraq is a significant victory but warn that terrorists and insurgents would not be deterred by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's death.

What I find interesting is the need to share this:

QUOTE (CNN)
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was alive when U.S. troops reached him after the U.S. bombing raid, but died "almost immediately" after, Maj. Gen. William Caldwell said.

"Almost Immediately"? What does that mean? Someone shot him? He timed it well?

I don't think there is too much to be read into that statement. Finding someone alive, doesn't necessarily mean they are even moving around. They could be barely alive. I agree the way it is worded almost makes it seem like he was alive and well when they found him, and then terminated, either by someone or himself, soon afterwards. I've seen the video of the strike, and I am surprised he was found in one piece to be honest.
