Troops Home Fast: Hundreds Begin Nationwide Hunger Strike to Protest War
as Ex-Soldier Charged in Iraq Rape, Killing
A former U.S. soldier was arrested Monday on charges of raping an Iraqi woman and killing her and three family members. This comes as hundreds of people around the country begin fasts to protest the war in Iraq. We speak with an Iraq war vet who was arrested protesting war on July 4th and an Iraqi blogger - both are participating in the fast.

The first thing I did was go to democracynow.org to see where this is coming from and I guessed right. I found a list of radio stations and TV stations that include Berkeley, Chico, Davis, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, and NPR radio. Those cities in California are well known hotbeds of liberalism. Saddam: 'If I'm to be executed, please make it by firing squad'
An angry Saddam Hussein making his final appearance before the court trying him in Baghdad said that he would prefer to die by firing squad rather than hang "like a common criminal". The prosecution has asked for the death penalty for the former Iraqi leader and two of the other seven defendants for their role in the killing of 148 Shias in retaliation for the assassination attempt against Saddam in 1982.

He wants to executed by firing squad because its not like the commoner? How bizarre. I actually thought that another country cannot execute the leader of another country? I might be wrong. But perhaps it is the fact that the Iraqi people are technically the ones putting him on trial and not the United States.
The only US interference I have heard of is the Pro Bono lawyer from the US. Am I wrong?

'I can't go to Iraq. I can't kill those children' - Suicide soldier's dying words to his mother
While his peers from St Augustine's Catholic school were this month contemplating university careers or first jobs, Jason Chelsea was preoccupied with a different future: his first tour of duty in Iraq.
The 19-year-old infantryman, from Wigan, Greater Manchester, was tormented by concern about what awaited him when the King's Lancaster Regiment reached Iraq, where 115 British soldiers have been killed since 2003.

Congressmember Murtha: "I'm Disappointed" by Hillary Clinton's Refusal to Endorse Troop Withdrawal Plan
Democracy Now! interviews Congressmember John Murtha (D - PA) about his position on the Iraq war, the Haditha massacre and Sen. Hillary Clinton's refusal to endorse his troop withdrawal plan. On Clinton, Murtha says, "I'm disappointed. I'm not sure why that's happened...I don't know what the reason is she's decided not to endorse my position.

As far as I am concerned, Congressman Murtha should be recalled by his constituents. I hope that he gets voted out - soon. He has been extremely offensive towards the military, especially the Marines.
As far as Hillary Clinton is concerned, if she is going to run for the Presidency, then she KNOWS that it would be a very bad idea to endorse the drastic "cut and run" proposals coming from Murtha and his cronies. Perhaps, as the polls indicate, a majority of the US disagree with the war. But I really don't think that anywhere near a majority want us to cut and run.
