Why Would God Choose America?

Comments: The thing I find the most difficult to accept with the Joseph Smith story is why America? Why not choose the original place he started with in the Middle East?
Most look to the Middle East as the center, some to the African Continent, but following LDS Scriptures, it was in the North Americas, where Adam and Eve originated, but then this seem like a mute point on a LDS Doctrine site. Unless you subscribe to the hollow earth theory, as some LDS members I know. That most of what takes place in the Garden of Eden was in a sheltered place until the flood, and Noah came forth from the earth, as a child from the womb. Not sure, don't focus on it much, but it does have it points.
God set this land aside for a special purpose after the flood, and it has always been a promised land for the righteous, until they become not so to a certain degree and are swept off.
Josh is correct, it was because it was a place it open enough for God to renew the Gospel upon the earth. Everywhere else, people, churches and governments were too well entrenched to give it a chance. Plant a garden amongst heavy weeds and it will die out and not produce fruit, a very simple fact once being a farmer and now into plant and fruit research in my retirement.
God plans on success, God plans so that things don't fail, unless we let them down, but that only really delays the process.

I agree with Josh's answer to Larry and even with that look at how difficult a time Joseph had trying to restore the church in what is supposed to be the land of religious freedom!
