I read that those who receive their Call and Election Sure do it through recommendation (Usually someone who received it makes a list of people who he/she thinks are worth enough to receive it) What are your thoughts about this? Isn't this a way to trust in the arm of the flesh? Can a "man" decide whether we are worthy of Exaltation or not?
There could have been some list back in the day. More something only the prophet, first presidency has.
Once when attending a funeral, the man who had died had previously spoken with the stake president, he was concerned that he might not be worthy of exaltation. The stake president proceeded to ask him the temple recommend questions, the man answered affirmative to all of the questions. The take president told him that his answers and saving ordinances were all that was required for his exaltation. Of course god is the final judge, however this ordinance is preformed under the direction of the 1st presidency who are messengers of god. Who else would be able to discern Gods judgement, but the ones who receive it directly from him.

Comments: It's generally a good idea to study the scriptures before posting anything on the site, so as not to look like a fool in front of everyone.
First of all, having your calling and election made sure has NOTHING to do with seeing Christ. It's plain and simple. D&C 131:5-6 explains it all. Having your calling and election made sure is knowing, through personal revelation, that you will recieve exaltation.
Now, this personal revelation is generally followed by the ordinance of washing of the feet. After all this, one may recieve the right and ability to recieve revelation directly from the Lord from time to time when necessary, but that doesn't necessarily mean that ALL who make sure their calling and election will see God.

Comments: Yes there is a second anointing that is done, that is generally associated with the calling and election made sure. I only know of one person who personally has had it done, but I am not sure if he said he has his calling and election made sure. All stake presidents use to have it done many years ago, but I am not sure if this is still the case. I do know for a while they did slow down on giving the ordinance, this is at the preference of the prophet at the time. I am not sure as to what degree Pres. Monsen authorizes it. Anyway I also believe that the calling and election may come with or without a personal visitation of Christ.
