Comments: How many of you read the talk "The Day of the Lamanites" by Elder Spencer W. Kimball back in 1960? I couldn't believe my eyes when I was reading some of the comments, I searched for an official source (so nobody can say it's just an anti-mormon attack...No, he really believed it) First he starts by saying Indians are people (odd moment) and that he realizes that they respond to the same teaching and kindness and love as others do. Hmmm really? And then this...
Paul yes I read it (many times). What exactly is your concern? I see none. The problem with members (and non-members) is that they fail to understand that past prophets and leaders were products of their time and Spencer W. Kimball wasn't the exception.
Billboard: Why did LDS leader say Mormons are warlike?
The billboard, paid for by a group of libertarians and constitutionalists, asks "Why did [LDS Church President] Spencer W. Kimball say: "We are a warlike people"?" [..] "There is an [LDS] scripture that says to renounce war and proclaim peace," Boyack said. "But we think there is a lot of [Mormons] renouncing peace and proclaiming war." Ref. Source 4
