I understand. I read my Scriptures daily, but have a really hard time reading the weekly assignments. I read the Book of Mormon daily, and just scan the area of the assigned verses Sunday Morning before Church. Some of that though is my ADD like problems, don't focus well, and even less so, when I need to or have too. I am glad that the Church has changed lesson to bare essentials, that leaves more room for self motivation, activation and open understanding.
I scan if I have too, but like to run the other way, when I see lengthy instructions and manuals. It just seem all to overwhelming, even though I know it would be good if I read them. My mind works differently, I do better, trying something, then look or help if I fail; just how my brain is wired.
One reason too, to make sure I have the Holy Ghost's ok on a assigned talk or something, because I cannot focus enough to do it on my own. Need him to help me super focus, to get it done. I guess I don't like lines to stay in, I guess I have always thought outside of the box. My wife told me recently, you don't think outside of the Box, you are outside of the Box. I guess I fly by the seat of my pants, with the Holy Ghost as my co-pilot, maybe one of the good things of not being born in the Church, no expectation to mold me, affecting my thoughts and changes I need to make, to become more Christ like.
This might seem like a very weak answer but it really isn't. He probably wrote in the King James style because it sounded good. That was one of the requirements of King James when he commissioned the translation of the Bible... It should sound good to those listening to it being read.
