Harry Potter - Page 4

I tried reading the first Harry Potter after a good friend recommended it but I couldn't stomach it. People say J K Rowling has an amazing imagination but I found a lot of her characters cliched and the plot predictable.

I've read a bit of fantasy before and especially like the Tolkein's Lord of The Rings series. The books are better than the movies.

The Potter movies are alright, I think they are well made. But the storyline and characters just don't do it for me. I might go and see the new one when it comes out on DVD after reading some of the comments about it.

Potter Harry

I was really amazed that a group of rpger's wouldnt like the Harry Potter movies. Considering its in the third week now and still number one at the box office with only Aeon Flux hitting the theatres this week its bound to stay there another week.

1.Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire $54.7M
2.Walk the Line $19.2M
3.Yours, Mine & Ours $17.5M
4.Chicken Little $12.6M
5.Rent $10M
6.Just Friends $9.2M
7.Pride and Prejudice $7.2M
8.Derailed $4.6M
9.In The Mix $4.4M
10.The Ice Harvest $3.7M

I sat through four screenings of the film to make sure there was no errors in the prints before we opened out midnight showing thursday. And enjoyed it for the most part considering I knew I already had four more hours of work. Our new Employee had built his first movie and it had to be the nine reel Harry Potters with the 15 or so ad's and coming soon trailers. Welp it was all backwards and upside down so needless to say didn't enjoy the three hour movie as much as I did the other three.

It's still a great movie and would give it five stars just cause the dragon in it smile.gif Special effects where perfect and the storyline never gave me time to run to the restroom(no dull moments).

Wow. I think that storyline right there makes me realize just how big the Harry Potter series has become. In the article they mentioned something about hiring a team to try to write more books like Harry Potter that will captivate the audiences of children to keep the accident prone level down. I'm not so sure that will work. Writing isn't something that can written in a way to force a certain kind of reaction, they just have to let it happen.

I really enjoy both the movies and the books. The first three movies were made pretty well, but I had some grievances, as with all books that are made into movies, The fourth one, which I got to see on an IMAX theatre, was the best one made so far. As Kozak said, it kept my attention all throughout. Definately no bathroom break. The CGI was done very well in this movie, especially in comparison with the first three. I liked the new director on this one. He was a huge step up from the director of the third movie.
