Harry Potter - Page 2

I have read all the books so far released and loved them all. And the first two movies were okay, but the third one was not at all to my tastes. It felt like it was done by a completely different director so it didn't relate with the others. Also, I thought it was much more "cheesy" especially in the beginning and the end. The middle was good, it had much better graphics and scenry than the other two, but the plot was jumpy and lacking. It also left out some of the most important aspects presented in the book, such as anything about his father and the relation to the map and the stag harry produces at the end.
Overall I would have to say it was the worse story wise out of the three.

I enjoyed it, the graphics were incredible. I loved the Hippogrif. But it just seemed to aggrevate the feeling of fakeness that the books have. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the books, but at times the characters don't seem to act rationally, they do or say things that real people wouldn't do or say under any circumstances. They just don't act real. And the movie seems to emphasize this.

For example, oh, and if you have read the books, then the 'spoilers' wont actually be spoilers.

*************SPOILER*******************

When Lupin and Cerius have Harry, Ron, Hermoine, and the rat in the room, and they talk about killing 'him.' They seem to go out of their way to make Harry think that they are talking about killing him. When in reality most people would try to assure Harry that they weren't trying to kill him.

Or when Harry is invisible in the town, he barges through a group of people singing. I know he was upset, but unless he's just naturally a bully it seems unnatural to destroy your stealth by shoving people out of the way. Even when he wasn't upset he wasn't careful to avoid detection.

**********END OF SPOILERS***************

Okay, sorry that's just my rant. Overall an enjoyable movie, just a few things that were a bit far fetched.

Okay, so I've seen it twice now with two different people. Here's some of my ideas:

*Buckbeak was awesome!
*Majorly rushed!
*Much darker, more real-life, less magic.

The third book is totally my favorite of the 5 and I really hope they have an extended version of this that will come out on DVD. I definatly think this is a must see movie for any HP fan. Put I sure do miss Chris Columbus.

I didn't see that as not natural. He was really upset, and he had been using that cape for some time so he was not as aware of being invisable as at other times.

In this movie the one thing that did bother me was Ron when he was in the hospital. As Harry and Hermoine are leaving and coming back in, he acts scared. What is this? They are witches for heavens sake. Why would disappearing and re-appearing in a different part of the room frighten a third year witch??

Other than that I really liked the movie. I just loved it when Hermoine planted the right cross on that creep Draco. Way to go Hermoine!

We recently saw the latest Harry Potter film. This is not the kind of movie I would pay money to see, but we just wanted to get out the house so I thought I would place a review here. First of all, I did not see the first and second films, so maybe I missed something, but I was rather bored throughout the film. It was long, repetitive and had a dull storyline, but that is just me - don't start throwing rocks please. I did enjoy the level of graphic animation and was most impressed with the paintings on the wall that moved.

Not seeing the first two films would probably be a big disadvantage as you need to know the characters and the story line. Did you read the books? If so, that would have helped.

No, have not read the books or anything like that, it was just part of a double feature that we went to see, but while sitting there I was trying to think what is so fantastic that everyone is making a hub bub about.

Yes, seeing the 3rd film (probably not made as well as it could have been) in isolation (and not reading the books) might have left me a little unexcited too.

The first film is a must I think, then at least one book - I suggest the third (the best storyline of the three, perhaps first four books).

You have to give JK Rowling credit, she's a very imaginative and good writer. I review manuscripts, many from children's authors, and JK is miles ahead. And I'm not easily impressed when it comes to writing!
