D&D 3.5 Missing Ships Game - Page 19

The pirate doesn't answer your question about just using the abandoned lighthouse. He watches as the two rouges discuss something, of which he is not sure. Jeffrey is becoming a little fidgety as he watches.

Asthelion gazes past Avan, who's back is towards the shoreline, and stares at the lizard-men.

"Well I guess he wasn't lying about the lizard-men", Asthelion says right before he reaches for his bow and pulls out an arrow simultaneously. He then shoves Avan out of the way and aims at the lizard-man at the head of the group.

Initiative (+4): 16
Range (+4): 21
Damage 1d6: 3

Asthelion lets loose an arrow on one of the lizard men and pulls out another without wasting a breath.

Jeffrey stands up and begins to hop for the trees.

The lizard-man in the front gets hit with an arrow in his knee, and chest. It falls to the ground lifeless.

The remaining four run towards you and are in melee range.

Out of Character: Question. Asthelion tied Jeffery to a post of the lighthouse on page 15 after his failure with the makeshift cloth binds and he rifled through him for weapons and other valuables before that... how did he free himself?

Without time to put his bow away properly, Asthelion simply drops it and draws out his two short swords. He then attacks the nearest lizard-man shouting a guttural war cry he picked up from monsters he's hunted in the past hopes of making them hesitate. Avan had moved behind Asthelion as they had shot their arrows and so now Asthelion really prayed his partner didn't abandon him now. The idea was to give Avan a chance to either draw a sword also or continue to shoot and provide support but whether he got the idea Asthelion had no clue.

Melee (+3)
Two Weapon Proficiency
Light Weapons
Deficits (-2 & -2)
Result: 18, 12

Avan quickly shifts back, to avoid incoming attacks and fires once more at the target that appears to be the leader (more jewelry or better weapons).

Ranged attack(+4) = 20
Damage(0) = 4

He then pulls out the short sword he looted from the dead pirate.

Avan allows the living pirate to run (if the pirate is able).

Jeffrey is a pirate and familiar with using rope so he gets a +2 to his escape artist check. His roll would go against your use rope roll +10 but I never did get a roll from you. Thinking about it now I should have asked you for a roll. At any rate he had all night to work on getting free. I didn't think it would be too much of a stretch to have him freed from the post, his legs and hands are still bound.

As the lizard-men surround Asthelion you attack again. Avan is able to back away just enough to fire his bow again comfortably. Asthelion's sword attack is quick and his first stab gets threw the lizard-man's defenses, stabbed in the belly. It hisses in protest as Avan's arrow hits it in the back, bringing it to the ground.

The remaining 3 attack Asthelion with clubs. He parries the first, bends to dodge the second but the club grazes his leg. The third club hits his shoulder, all attacks causing a total of 3 damage.
