Avan slowly and silently crawls to the lip of the structure for a look to satisfy his curiosity. He keeps his bow out of sight as he lies down and looks out.

You begin to hear the sound of wood being chopped by an axe coming from the woods, in the direction of were the man (now before you) came from.

The man near the tower scratches himself and begins to head back into the woods.

As he watches the man disappear into the woods, Asthelion thinks of a plan but he must act quickly.

He turns to Avan who he has found crept up beside him and says, "Listen up, from up here there is no point of escape should things get complicated. I deduce that the man is dragging timber towards this 'lighthouse' and he'll make a couple trips to do so. Thus it is in our best interest to not be here when they drag the timber up so while the man goes into the woods we will get off the platform one at a time and take shelter in the trees where we can retreat if needbe. Our greatest advantage right now is that no one knows we're here and, until we find out what's going on here anyway, I'd prefer to keep it that way. I figure there's enough time of us to get down one at a time. I'll go first and after the man comes and goes again you get down and come by me where we can observe from a safe distance. Try not to leave footprints."

And, knowing that they have precious time if the plan is to work, Asthelion grabs the rope, slides down, and makes a dash for the nearest foliage without waiting for a response. In the back of his mind Asthelion prays that this wasn't the strangers last trip back to the woods.

Avan's nod goes unnoticed as Asthelion slides down. Avan stays in his spot lying there until someone comes out of the woods.

The leaving pirate is oblivious to Asthelion's actions. Asthelion makes it to his concealed destination within the woods.

A little over a minute later the man returns from the woods and drops off another large branch next to the first one. He begins to start snapping smaller branches off of the main one with various forms of applying leverage.

Avan waits until he is finished and leaves, then slides down the same rope Asthelion used, and joins him in the treeline where he last saw him.

After the pirate piles the wood into a sort of bundle he returns back to the woods.

You safely make it to the woods were Asthelion is waiting.

You can hear two different voices having some sort of conversation coming from the woods were he entered.

Avan stays still, watching the treeline where the pirate was. "Hey," he turns and whispers to Asthelion, "this may be a rare chance. We have to strike before they light any fire, and there's only two of them. If we strike any later, we may have to deal with more of their friends. We may even get a few answers out of them."
