Basdeo Panday - Page 6

Panday lost my vote when he labeled teachers criminals and he has put his foot in his mouth many, many times after that. He insults the intelligence of the people in this country. The account is not mine is Oma own, Oma says is not hers he turns and says that it was an account set up when he went to do surgery, then it stayed because his daughters where studying in England, you know what? It really was a gift from Duprey to Oma who put it in my account (that I forgot I had) for my daughters (not Oma's own, she has no children) to study in England. Dem tief so I tief too! I should put that man as Prime Minister again? Panday should just shut the hell up, go England to live and lets us forget the man exists. Does it show that I hate the man?

I'm not ready to go, says Panday

He has been placarded, booed and calls have been made for him to step down as leader of the United National Congress (UNC), however, Opposition Leader Basdeo Panday says his people want him to stay and he has no intention of riding out into the sunset. Ref. Source 3

Panday had so many chances to just retire gracefully but he has pushed himself to the point that the majority of UNC supporters have said that it is enough and time for something new. I hope now that the UNC elections are over he will not try to contest it but just call it an end of an era and move on to something new.

Maybe he will quit and form his OWN political party, he still remains the leader of the opposition though. Definitely, we haven't seen the last of him! laugh.gif

I read in the Express how Panday is saying the election is fraud because they found some boxes with undelivered UNC cards. The problem is that people didn't need cards in order to vote. I truly believe Mr. Panday is delusional and needs the help of a psychologist, I mean...come on! To reach that point and not able to see the people CAN'T STAND HIM anymore he must have some serious issues!

Sore loser?

He stormed out a meeting at the UNC headquarters after he unsuccessfully tried to raise a motion at the party's parliamentary caucus for there to be a public inquiry into the January 24 internal elections.

international QUOTE
At approximately 5.20 p.m loud voices were heard from the closed-door meeting and, a few seconds later, an upset-looking Panday, accompanied by Opposition MPs Subhas Panday, Mickela Panday, Kelvin Ramnath as well as Opposition Senators Adesh Nanan and Mohammed Faisal Rahaman, walked out and entered another room of the complex, where they held discussions for 20 minutes before leaving.

Speaking to the Express last night and asked why he left the meeting, Panday said, "I moved a motion that having regard to all the complaints and irregularities coming out of the internal elections that the caucus agree that we have an enquiry into the elections and Harry Partap, the chairman, refused to entertain the motion. I asked him to have a vote on it and he refused."

Panday said he raised the motion at the caucus because he was not a member of the Executive.

He stressed the need for an enquiry and added that if the Executive does not make any move to do so, he and his supporters would use whatever resources they have to ensure there was one.

Asked if he would attend future parliamentary caucus meetings, Panday said, "I don't see any point. They cannot take any decisions in the absence of Jack Warner. In the absence of Jack Warner, Kamla cannot take any decision." Warner was out of the country and in his absence Partap chaired the meeting...
