I suppose that depends on your legal or illegal status. You should talk to an immigration lawyer about that.

Here is a question for you boys and girls. Which one is worst;

Entering America illegal or hiring an illegal?

The later is worst for me. If there was no one to hire them will they be entering America?

I don't really see the difference. Both are breaking laws of the land and both should be prosecuted and dealt with...

If there were no illegals in the US, they couldnt be hired...
If there was no hiring of illegals, they would be less apt to come here...

I am a boy...

My issue are the kids of these folks. It's not their fault that their parents entered illegally and after enjoying the benefits we offer here in America they're suddenly kicked out along with their parents. How fair is that?

Illegals In The USA

I was recently in a courtroom where 50% of the cases were about illegals being caught driving without valid drivers licenses. The lawyer explained that his client was part of a group of people that under the current laws was not able to obtain a drivers license. That explanation was good enough for the judge and she explained (threw the translator) that if he were to be arrested instead of fined other things might happen to him. Meaning I am pretty sure if your actually arrested and brought to jail that you will be deported. I am not 100% on that though, it is just what I gathered from the conversation.

I am going to go off on a little rant here just venting my frustrations with illegals.

The one guy in the courtroom was arrested for driving while intoxicated and without a license. Recently a man mexican was arrested for killing a person because he was intoxicated and driving. Many mexicans cannot speak english let alone read it and all our signs are in english. However this does not stop them from driving and being a hazard to other citizens.

I just thought it was interesting to see our legal system turn such an obvious blind eye to the whole thing. Recently I found out that the temp agency that was supposed to be finding me a job was letting an illegal use my social security number so that he / she could get work. I am not saying illegals are evil people or bad people. Yet a lot of their actions cause harm to legal citizens.

The question I wonder is if they were legal citizens would they still cause such a threat. Or is the very fact that they are considered illegal preventing them from being productive positive legal citizens.

For instance if the illegal immigrant was considered legal he might not have been so depressed to drink so heavily. He may have had proper training with the vehicle allowing him to drive safer. He would not have needed to steal my social security number to obtain work. So in a sense labeling mexicans as illegal is causing a lot of the harm.

I don't see how you can just open up the borders and let everyone in, it would be chaos and I know many would be worse off in the end.

On the other hand I can't ignore the double standard we present. We tell countries to be democracies and allow their people to be free because it is the best way. Yet we cannot offer that same freedom to our neighbors. We abuse them and cause them a lot of harm, almost feeding off of them in a way. I can't help but wonder why freedom and the opportunity to be all you can be is not offered to the human being from Mexico.

If they want to put in the work and be positive productive citizens then why are they not allowed to be equals and free like us? To me it is such an obvious question and double standard. The answers I come up with for why are not ones that many Americans want to hear. I think that may be a big part of why so many Americans accept and embrace labeling them as illegal in such blanketed ways. It allows us to turn our backs on them and separate ourselves from their plight.

Illegals deserve the treatment they receive because they are here illegally. That statement to me has no meaning when I ask myself why they are not allowed to be free like I am. I am not any different than many mexicans in a lot of ways. True there are some but the core ones are there. Wanting to be free and treated as a human being. Wanting to have the opportunity to improve my life threw work and learning.

I see this is turning into a long rant so I'll wrap it up. What happens when you take away those basic things from a person. I think most would agree that the person feels like their is no point. What is the point of hard work if there is no opportunity to make your life better from it? What is the point of learning if that knowledge only adds to your suffering?

Is it really any wonder why we are in the position we are in? Wouldn't most all people act and react in the exact same way? Isn't that exactly what brought about the birth of America in the first place?

I think in a lot of ways these days you can't be any more American than to be an illegal citizen putting in a hard days work, fighting for a better life.

To address the topic of the thread; we could free up a lot of our governments people and resources by allowing mexicans to become Americans more easily. The security of our country might possibly be greatly improved by eliminating the illegal status of those who truly want to become American.

First of all, the children born in the US are extended citizenship automatically. However, that same offer is not made to illegal parents, which can be deported. It isn't their fault. But the creating of a child should not be rewarded with citizenship either as that sets about a very dangerous precedence.

Oliron:

This is exactly why we need to have a secured border and that there are little to no illegals in the country. While we would be angry that a drunken illegal has killed someone while illegally driving a vehicle, that person also is in a strange state of limbo with regards to sentencing. Since they are not a US citizen, what penalties can actually be given out and how harsh can they be? Because they are illegal, the justice system cannot protect them and they are easy prey for employers. So it isn't just penalties...it is protection as well.

When the health care was cheap and the benefits that the government provided citizens was much less than today, having a few illegals to do jobs that US citizens werent interested in worked out well. Both sides were happy with the arrangement. However, the government is providing far more benefits to the citizens and health care has gone up far faster than inflation and there are now way more illegals than 20 years ago. Therefore, the arrangement isn't working out for one side now.

To jump on my rant again, when the money pit that is the US taxpayer dries up and the US goes broke...will the illegals hang around for long? We are now 13 Trillion in debt. It wasnt but a couple of years ago that number was only 10 going onto 11 Trillion in debt. States are going broke...California will likely be the first or at least the most significant of the top 5 to go under. While illegals are not the only reason for the mismanagement of the budget, the money used for services and benefits for illegals has definitely not helped this state.

I totally get that we can't just let everyone in. We just don't have the jobs, look at the unemployment rate. I also agree that an illegal having a child in America should not automatically keep them from deportation. I am not willing to rule out them being made legal American citizens though depending on the situation.

We may as well buy a trillion dollar blindfold for the statue of liberty to go along with the useless wall. The way I see it the corrupt bankers and politicians weaken our security way more than illegal immigrants ever could. There are many legal Americans who don't care about what America stands for. They only pretend to so that they can fill their pockets.

I feel the people we should really be kicking out of America are those who hide behind the "law" and get rich threw illegal activities. I think if we started there our country would be a hundred times richer and far more secure.
