I think that our president was not really listening to the press and was just sitting there so he did not see her hand or hear them ask for the handshake.

And again I have to say, our interests will not always align with Europe. Yes, they do largely align but there will be times and places where they don't and Europe should respect that, especially considering we are paying for the lion's share of their defense.

That said, I'm not sure climate change was the right place to assert our independence. I would have to see what this key clause was that President Trump said he wanted to take time to think about. If it was obviously onerous on the US while giving other countries, maybe.

I can care less what German has to say. They invaded my homeland twice in just a little over a 100 years. I could care less if they fell off the face of this earth.

I do think that some of the European leaders need to be careful as to what they say as the US does pay for a lot of the NATO functions.
