Even though the US supreme court reenforced our right to bear arms does not mean there is going to be more guns in american homes. Many americans who want to have a gun in their home already have one. It was their personnel choice to own and the ruling is reenforces their beliefs and rights.

Keeping a loaded weapon in the house is not giving gun owners a bad name. I also have a loaded weapon in my house. It is more about location of the weapon and proper training of the youngsters to not play with any weapons unless you plan to use them on another human being. My house is full of weapons. none of the kids play with those weapons because they know the damage they can do to a person. If you educate and train your children in the proper way to handle and use weapons that can kill or maim some one you should not have to worry about your child using a weapon to injure themselves. Remember most accidents that happen around the house involving weapons are done by children who had no experience or training in handling the weapons. Plus the parents usually are not home to supervise or give care to the children.
KNtoran it is not just your child you need to consider here it is friends and visitors. I do not know about where you are but here you are looking at jail time for improper storage of a fire arm.
I hope nothing ever happens guys but leaving a loaded weapon is just asking for an issue one day. Why bother keeping it loaded any how? KNtoran I have no doubts on your abilities or your families with the fire arm but it is just a bigger issue then just your own. Why take the chance?
