Film & Theater Club presents a Roundtable w/ Brian Petersen
and Chris Wyatt
The LA Clubs' Film and Theater Club presents a Roundtable Discussion
about Filmmaking with Brian Petersen and Chris Wyatt
When: Thursday, March 16, 2006, 7:30 pm - 9 pm
Where: In the Primary room (or, for those of you in the Santa
Monica 3rd YSA Ward, the "largest Sunday School classroom") at the
Los Angeles Santa Monica Stake Center, 3400 S. Sawtelle, Los
Angeles, CA 90066
Come be a part of a roundtable discussion with Brother Brian
Petersen and Brother Chris Wyatt, whose separate filmmaking credits
include producing and directing work for such films as `Napoleon
Dynamite', the upcoming `Think Tank', and `The Twelve Dogs of
Christmas'. Each will speak briefly about their continuing
experiences in the film industry, including the ups and downs of
being a Latter-day Saint filmmaker striving for success in today's
diverse film market. Brian and Chris are unique in light of recent
successes by others in the Mormon film genre, in that their separate
and combined bodies of work are not limited to LDS films about LDS
people or subjects, nor to cinema aimed specifically at LDS movie-
goers, despite their common background in the church. Brian and
Chris will also engage in a moderated Q & A, plus field questions
from those in attendance. Brian, Chris, and many other individuals
are blazing new trails for LDS filmmakers in Hollywood today! Don't
miss out on this special discussion and educational moment. This is
the first in hopefully an on-going series of roundtable discussions
with film, television, interactive entertainment, and theater
professionals.
Please RSVP to matthew.j.stringer@gmail.com
This is an open invitation, but seating is limited and first-come,
first-serve only!
Refreshments will be served. Do not bring any material for
solicitation to Chris or Brian; this is a Church activity not
specifically designed for networking, employment, or business
purposes. As always, this is a Church approved club, therefore LDS
standards apply. But don't be afraid to bring your business card
for mingling with like-minded club members and friends afterwards.
THIS IS AN OPEN INVITATION, like all club activities, and is not
just intended for those who consider themselves a part of the club
already. Please feel free to come and see what the Film and Theater
Club is all about! And, be sure to invite your non-LDS friends or
family members. The club, like all of the Santa Monica and Los
Angeles Stakes' LA Clubs, is open to all types of people, and is not
intended to be solely for Latter-day Saints, although the majority
of club participants are LDS young single adults.
THE FILM AND THEATER CLUB (sometimes called the Short Film Club) was
established to bring together and help further bless the lives of
LDS young single adults and others interested in the art, culture,
and business of the stage and screen, big or small. All club
activities and club membership and participation are free of charge.

Sure, MissMolly, feel free to post info you find here from the Q&A ~ it would be great to have that followup here. Not necessarily the entire thing, but some interesting snippets and a link to the actual site would be terrific!
