Did you hear that Beckham's missed penalty kick ball is on the Spanish Ebay site right now, and has already pulled in about 22000 Euros? Apparently the Spaniard who got the ball after it sailed over the goal and into the stands was contacted by a British newspaper and offered 18000 Euro. He declined, but this sparked his interest in what he could get for the ball in an auction setting. He placed the ball up for bid, and at one time it was up to 10 million Euros, but the Ebay site eventually found out there were a number of hoax bids, and had to withdraw more than 100 of them. Currently it is at 21,150 Euros with about 3 days left. Goes to show how fanatic the European countries can be about their football. If youre interested in the Ebay bid, here is the link to it:

I don't even know why Beckham was even on the England squad to begin with much less the captain of the team. He is not even a captain on his own club, and he doesn't play in England. Give someone like Gerrard the captaincy. The only reason he was on the field was because of his spot kick abilities, which did pay off a few times in the World Cup. There are a lot of rumors that Bechkham will be coming to the MLS soon. Now that he has lost favor with the rest of the world why not come woo the ignorant US soccer fans who only care about his appearance and fame?

How interesting. He is going to the US to play with LA Galaxy at the end of his season with Madrid. I wonder if his wife influenced this decision(she loves the glamor and she will be closer to Hollywood)?

I don't think she cares about the US that much. He is only going to make $3 million dollars a year BUT he will have full rights for his image that will make around 40 million dollars a year! The question remains: Did he has a choice? Real Madrid wanted to extend his contract for two more seasons only.
