Cartola Introduction

Hello,

I'm currently enjoying a fairly long vacation, so yeah lot's of time to read. Eventually, I found some old D&D books my cousin left at my home. Since then, I'm trying to get into the game and chose this respectful looking community to do so!

Because of the site's strict grammar rules, I think its important to notify that I read in portuguese. I'm fluent in english, but in a colloquial way. I also don't get a few words, and mistake others. Example, I'm not sure 'strict' isn't a synonymous of 'prohibited' (I'm not sure about colloquial either). If so, it was not my intent. My point is, I know speech differs greatly to text, and I don't want my manner to bother other people.

I'll be reading some more about the game before I begin to play. I'm enjoying myself, so I think I'll take some time (laugh). Hope to meet people soon

One question. Are abbreviations, like 'u', allowed if I can use them without compromissing the message? From what I understood, this community have these rules to maintain maturity in the forums. I agree with them, for the internet can be very frustrating. I just think a normal conversation can be maintained even with some 'lol's and 'brb's.

Thank your for reading. Cartola

Honey, if you are asking that question then it means you haven't read the rules, try again: Constructive Posting Policy.

I read the rules. Also the one about not discussing the rules.

I'll just overreach here because I believe in the purpose of your rules, but I like abbreviations. I also don't think they'll disrupt the forum. I'm just asking because I don't want to cause a moderator the trouble of having to edit my posts.

My messages will be understandable, but if its against the rules, I understand. I agree with it. I'm just asking.

I read over this while searching for something else and I was kind of laughing about what you said about the rules and stuff. So you like read all the rules and then chose to still ask if you can break the rules... huh? rolleyes.gif
