We are talking about ONLY women, no men at all... what can happen?

A World Of Only Women?

We have heard of the concept of the Amazonians, women who dominated over men. These days we here about Lesbians, women who want to do without men. Now, what about if there was a world of only women and women were able to reproduce without men, what can happen in reference to the below:

1. Will women tend to have life more comfortable for everyone - economy, work, and so on or will it be the same as it is now?
2. Will some women try to take on a domination role - like being a man or will their be equality in relationships?
3. Will there be discrimination issues or do you think they would have over come that?

What is the purpose of this thread? Do men really make a big difference in the world or is it just human nature? Are women, if left on their own, capable of doing better than men? Keep in mind that women have the instincts of motherhood.

1. Will women tend to have life more comfortable for everyone - economy, work, and so on or will it be the same as it is now?

I think it would be the same as now. There will always be strife, increases and decreases in economy. (in my experience women are more vicious when it comes to getting ahead in the work place)

2. Will some women try to take on a domination role - like being a man or will their be equality in relationships?
There will never be equality in relationships. Even in a heterosexual world there are feminine women who take on a dominate role. There are leaders and followers in each gender. Dominate and passive in each gender.

3. Will there be discrimination issues or do you think they would have over come that?
I believe there will be discrimination issues. If these women are human beings, then there will always be discrimination. Blondes are smarter, or blue eyes are best, or height, or weight, or intellect, or ______ (fill in the blank).

Do men really make a big difference in the world or is it just human nature?
Yes men really make a difference. Can't fertilize an egg without them. Even if you clone the sperm, I think that after so many times the structure will be weakened. Also the inherent nature of woman is to nurture. The inherent nature of man is to provide. I'm no scientist but I think that the pheromones that human males give off cause human females to preen, flirt and look for a mate. And the pheromones that females give off cause the males to beat their chests and strut and bring home the "bacon" biggrin.gif . Without those pheromones it would become a rather sterile world.

Are women, if left on their own, capable of doing better than men?
Let's take that statement and answer it for todays world. Women, can do as well as men. Just as men can do as well as women. If there are no men to call on to do the unpleasant things for you, a woman can do anything. If she can read and comprehend the written word, then she can do anything: change a tire, replace the innards to the toilet, bake a cake, cook a meal, operate a range and oven, shoot a gun, drive a car, pound a nail, saw wood, operate any power tool, beat the stuffing out of a mouse, etc. Just like a man can cook, bake, iron clothes, wash clothes, color co-ordinate an outfit or accessorize cool.gif , as well as he can saw wood, pound a nail, change a tire, etc.

I believe that women and men are equally able to take on any job. But I think that there are certain things that men and women are predisposed towards.

Now I say predisposed, that doesn't necessarily mean that all cases are the same, but on the average this is how things are.
I believe that technology probably wouldn't have advanced as quickly, I'm not saying that women aren't smart, they just aren't as driven to advance technology. Women who enjoy technology for technology's sake are far less than men who enjoy technology for technology's sake. Women seem less likely to do something, just because 'they can.'

I think it would definitely be more peaceful, less wars and violence.

I think discrimination would continue, that's just human nature. I don't think that women and men are as different as we like to imagine they are, so I think a lot of the human type problems would probably remain.

Part of our problem here is that we are comparing a society of women with a society of men and women. If there were all women, with no history of ever having men around -- that kind of concept we don't really have the capacity to envision (at least, I don't).

Secondly, we don't have enough history of women as leaders in our current world. Most of world history has had women back-burnered, always a couple of steps behind men, often uneducated and servant or chattel status. How would women *really* have done if the roles had been reversed? There are stories of some of our women in history who dressed as men, hid behind furniture, and did other things at extreme jeopardy to themselves just to *learn* something.

I do believe that *most* women have a gentler, more peaceful nature. But I have also seen very sweet, gentle women turn fierce if their children or homes are threatened. I've also seen women with no "motherhood" instinct whatsoever. Brutal, cutthroat, vicious.

In my opinion, we would have a very similar society, but perhaps more equal, more gentle, more loving. There will always be the types who are more dominant and *intelligent* who will lead, and there will always be those more submissive and passive who will follow. Technologically, who knows? The old adage is that "necessity is the mother of invention." biggrin.gif

In my opinion, of course.

I agree with most of what has been said here. I think AGene made many great points. I only have a problem with one statement relative to how it would play in this all female society:

QUOTE
(in my experience women are more vicious when it comes to getting ahead in the work place)

I, too, have seen this. I would much rather work for a man than a women. However, I think the reason we see this could have more to do with the way society treats women than in some inherent female behavior. It is still"a mans world" in general. So, most very successful women have had to fight to get to where they are. They have probably had to work harder to get to the same place as a man has had to work to get to that same level. They have had to battle a lot of preconceived notions to get there. Maybe if they didn't have to worry about appearing weak for example you would see less of the viciousness. Also, maybe the reason you see it is that only women who are really "fighters" can really get to the top in the current business world so when you meet a successful women, she is by her nature a fighter. It doesn't mean all women are and in a society where women were only competing among other women, the rules for them would be sufficiently different to allow more of their feminine qualities to be admired.

I do agree that we would still have prejudice, but I am not sure we would still have wars. I think high levels of testosterone contribute to the desire to exert one's will by force. I also think women would seriously hesitate to send the children they bear off to battle. While it is true that a women will fight to the death to defend her children, that isn't the same as being the aggressor. If no one starts the trouble, no one has to defend themselves.

1. Will women tend to have life more comfortable for everyone - economy, work, and so on or will it be the same as it is now?

Well, the kind of jobs would be a bit different maybe but I don't see it will have a very impact in the economy in any way.

2. Will some women try to take on a domination role - like being a man or will their be equality in relationships?

Oh yes, definetly. Some women will take the domination role, just like they are doing it right now those who are involved in lesbian relationships. One always is the protector and provider. I don't believe in equality not even in same sex relationships.

3. Will there be discrimination issues or do you think they would have over come that?

Yes, there will be discrimination of any kind like nowdays. Women generally are very critical of each other, so I personally think the discrimination issue would even increase .

hmm, you might be interested in the movie called A Boy and His Dog, a science fiction about an isolated region consisting of only women and robots of men. They are desperately looking for a man so they can use his sperm. Pretty funny.

I'd say life would be less comfortable - it's not that women are lesser than men, if it would have been a world of men only it would have been the same. The world just needs that balances between the sexes. Each have their own features and traits that are all necessary. While women have the instincts of motherhood and softness in them, men have the innate strictness in them, both needed and both not very good on their own. If women would be able to reproduce by their own, they would probably evolve over time to include broader features and include women having the same personalities as men today.

There will never be equality. No matter what - you combine both sexes, all races, all religions, there will still be inequality. One eye color is better than the other or something. That's just the nature of human beings.

yeah. Discrimination will never stop.

I think women have more of an attraction to the dramatics than men. Living in a dorm with 40+ girls taught me exactly how much drama can exist when girls are trying to rule themselves and each other.

I don't think a world without men would be the same at all. A lot of times I hear women say that if women were the rulers of the world there would be no war, etc. That, I believe, is one of the biggest lies I have ever heard. Women are much more infamous for giving into emotions than a lot of men. That doesn't go for everybody, but from my experience in life is seems that the majority of men and women I know fall into that stereotype.

Men bring a certain element, I can't really describe it, but it's an element that I don't believe women could emulate. Without that element we would be missing out so much in our world.
